I’ve used it for about a decade and played around with prep. If you don’t take your time and prep, it will peel/chip off. However, if you clean, sandblast, clean again, spray in a clean area,,,it should turn out fine.

Were it be I'd either parkerize it first of use some primer. Duracoat is some tough stuff but in the end it is still paint.
